Shipping Note: we don’t normally stock modified pedals, we manually modify a pedal when we receive an order. As such, modified pedals usually take about one week extra to ship. Please take this into account when choosing a shipping option.

Maybe you need a way to switch from a long to a short samples while your hands are busy playing an instrument. Or maybe you want to punctuate a song with mangled buffer artifacts, by adjusting the sample size is changed as a glitch plays back. You could adjust the knob itself with your foot, but on a crowded board that can be more of a headache than its worth. If you’d prefer to use an expression pedal, this is your answer.

Add this item to your cart if you’d like to add a 3.5mm TRS jack to control the sample size on your Mini Glitch V1.3 (pedals made from October 2023 onwards). If you have an earlier Mini Glitch pedal, please order mods with this link instead.

The jack functions as an expression input for the Sample Size knob only. When a cable is connected to the jack, the position of the Sample Size knob will set the minimum expression value. Due to space constraints, only a 3.5mm TRS jack can be used. It can only be located on the lower side of the pedal, near the footswitch. By default, it will be installed to the left of the “tkog” logo, but it can be installed on the right side by request. In addition to the jack itself, this modification also involves the addition of circuitry to protect the pedal from unexpected expression inputs.

You might even want to hook up a CV source from a modular synthesizer, to sequence or modulate the sample size, and this is certainly possible. However, CV cannot be connected using a normal TS or TRS cable. To connect external CV, a “floating ring” cable is required (more info in this guide from Perfect Circuit). When CV is used, the range available is 0V to 3.3V. CV outside of this range will be clipped.

To add a volume knob to your pedal, please use this link instead.

On the latest version of the pedal (V1.3), you can enable or smooth clicks using a calibration mode. The calibration mode can be accessed when the pedal powers on. Previously, you needed to open up the pedal to adjust an internal jumper. So the “clicks toggle” mod from older pedals is no longer recommended.

This item does not include a pedal, it is an add-on for pedal orders or for pedals that have been purchased previously. To purchase a pedal, please use this link.
